What are a resistor and detailed discussion?
The first name that comes to mind when studying electronics is Resistor. It is basically a common component of electronics. This component is used in every electronics circuit. The resistor is a very familiar component to those who work with electronics. It has a special function.
What is SSR? Why is it used?
Resistor
The resistor is an English word that means resistor in Bengali. The word obstruction implies that it is a component of obstruction. The resistor is a device that impedes the flow of electricity through a conductor. It is basically a passive electrical device with two ends.
Resistance
The characteristic of a conductor that causes an electric current to be interrupted is called resistance.
How do transistors work?
Expression, Symbol, and Unit
Resistance is expressed by R. The unit of an ohm (6).
The figure below gives some of the symbols of the resister which are used in various circuit boards and circuit diagrams.
There are basically two types of resistor
- Fixed resister
- Carbon composite
- Carbon pile
- Carbon film
- Printed carbon
- Thick and film
- Metal field
- Metal oxide field
- Wire und
- Foil
- Variable resistor
- Adjustable
- Potentiometer
- Resistance decade box
Fixed resister
A resistor whose value is fixed or which is specified at the time of setting the value of the resister and whose value cannot be changed is called a fixed or unchanging resistor.
Variable resistor
A resistor whose value can be increased or decreased as required is called a variable resistor.
Resister work
The main function of the resister is to prevent the flow of current in the circuit or to cause a voltage drop. In this case, the question may arise as to why the circuit or any part of the circuit needs to be constrained by low voltage or current flow.
We can easily understand this through an example, suppose there is an LED (light-emitting diode) in a circuit whose voltage range is 1.5 to 3 volts. Now if for some reason the source voltage in the circuit goes beyond 3 volts then there is a possibility of component (LED) damage.
The resister is used in the circuit to prevent such things from happening. A resister will drop more than 3 volts in the case of LEDs. In addition, the resister provides current and voltage as required.
We have given examples here only in the case of one LED. But Resister basically does this kind of work in all cases.
Resistor connection method in circuit
Connection to a series circuit
Series is an English word that means Bengali continuously. Then in this case a path of current flow is created by connecting multiple loads (resistors) one after the other to the electrical source.
Connection to a parallel circuit

Multiple loads (resistors) are connected to the electricalsource horizontally (as shown in the figure below) so that there are multiplepaths of current flow.
